Mountain Bar Cookies

No Bake Cookies


  1. 2 cup white sugar
  2. 1/2 cup butter
  3. 1/2 cup milk or water
  4. 4 tablespoons of unsweetened chocolate cocoa powder
  5. 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter (whichever you prefer)
  6. 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  7. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla


  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat
  2. in a large heavy saucepan over low eat, add sugar, butter, milk/water, and cocoa powder; stir until melted
  3. Slowly increase the heat to medium-high and barely bring it to a boil
  4. Stir constantly to make sure it does not burn
  5. remove from the heat once the boil starts
  6. add peanut butter, oats, and vanilla; stir until well mixed
  7. while mixture is still warm, drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking pans
  8. let it sit until cool and the chocolate is hardened
